Mud Vein

Mud Vein
by: Tarryn Fisher

Should you read it?: Maybe
...if you liked Gone Girl or that kind of mystery/suspense.
Category: Adult

From Amazon: When reclusive novelist Senna Richards wakes up on her thirty-third birthday, everything has changed. Caged behind an electrical fence, locked in a house in the middle of the snow, Senna is left to decode the clues to find out why she was taken. If she wants her freedom, she has to take a close look at her past. But, her past has a heartbeat…and her kidnapper is nowhere to be found. With her survival hanging by a thread, Senna soon realizes this is a game. A dangerous one. Only the truth can set her free.

Things I Liked:
I am trying to branch out in my genres this year and this was the first step for me in that goal, so I liked the genre. It was more mystery and suspense, but it had a little love story thrown in there which strangely worked for me.

I didn't see the ending coming. I kept wondering who did it and why and none of my guesses ended up being right, which is interesting to me.

It left me with lots of thoughts. I keep going back and forth between whether I would give this 5 stars and say it's a definite yes you should read or keep it at 4 and say it's a maybe. I just don't know. I am really interested in what other people think of it.

I thought the cover was weird and creepy when I first looked into this one, which is one reason why it took me a while to read it. But now that I've read it, I get it. It's a great cover.

Things I Didn't:
I don't know that there is anything I didn't like about the book itself. There are things that were uncomfortable to read or things that I'm not happy about happening, but they added to the book in a way that was very much needed.

Overall: This one will stick with you after you finish it.

Finished on: January 15, 2015
Book 14 for 2015
